Topics in Economic Theory & Global Prioritization

This Oxford-based summer course provides a rigorous introduction to a selection of topics in economic theory that appear especially relevant to the project of doing the most good. It is designed primarily for graduate students and strong, late-stage undergraduate students in economics considering careers in global priorities research, either in academia or elsewhere. It is taught primarily by Philip Trammell, a DPhil student in economics at Oxford and research affiliate at the Global Priorities Institute.

It was previously run in 2022 and 2023. The 2023 syllabus and program outline is available here.

The course will not be run in 2024, but we hope to run it in future years. If you would like to be notified in the event that applications open, or in the event that this content is made into an informal online course / lecture series, please register your interest here.
